I shouldn’t even be surprised this sentiment exists, and yet.

Y’all no it’s not. Come on. Come on. Try harder please.
Rebellion is helping to create mutual aid networks and institutions of counterpower among your friends, family and communities. Rebellion is putting your bodies on the line in defense of those communities against the state. Rebellion is a commitment to fucking sedition. Voting, on the other hand?
Voting is you, your parents, everyone you know lining up at a church or a post office on a Tuesday and choosing one airbrushed blowhard with soothing rhetoric over another.
Voting is support for a status quo that will consistently absorb your meager attempts at reform while magically never improving.
Voting is the end result of a multi-billion dollar pop-up industry that sets up every four years, like the Olympics.
Voting is very much not a fucking rebellion.
This is not to say that those who don’t vote are superior; you can not vote and also not do anything else, and that kind of person is shitty also. But let’s not pretend that voting isn’t the cheapest, most worthless form of political activism in a system whose survival depends on it being so.
