So this is kind of cool. Cab Ride Home is a thrash metal band from Manassas, VA. All of their songs are about partying and being as metal as possible. Their vocalist, Danica Roem, is now a member of the VA House of Delegates, soundly defeating District 13 Republican incumbent (and trash fire) Robert G. Marshall in Tuesday’s election and making history in the process.
Roem is also a journalist, and ran on a platform of improving traffic along Rt. 28 in Prince William County. As an added bonus, she’s ousting Marshall, who last year tried (and failed) to pass a bill that would ban transgender people from using the bathroom of their correct gender.
