Secretary of Education nominee Betsy DeVos, whose confirmation hearings have been beset by challenges and voiced concerns from Democrats and Republicans alike, will next be pleading her case to the full Senate.
According to The Hill, DeVos was “confirmed 12–11 along party lines” by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
The Senate just needs a simple 51–49 majority to confirm her as the next Education Secretary.
