I love this shit unironically. For whatever reason I’ve been drawn to Aussie punk since listening to Eddy Current Suppression Ring – Primary Color’s in 2008, but lately the current wave of bands from Down Under have been exceptional, combining speed with the same kind of stringy minimalism of their earlier cohort. “A Album” sounds like someone binged The Marked Men discography while downing a case of Foster’s. The standout song here is “Stage Banter,” which adds a little dash of angular post-punk shit to the minimal pop-punk vibe. Runner up: “R.L. Stine,” a little ditty about – what else – the beloved children’s horror author.
