What exactly is Life is Strange, anyway
all I knew about it before a couple of weeks ago was that most people liked to ‘summarize’ it with that ‘How do you do, fellow kids’ picture of Steve Buscemi, and it’s full of Hopefully-Satisfying Gay but like
what exactly is it? For some reason the screencaps remind me of that game that the Heavy Rain guy made with Ellen Page mo’capped for the protagonist, but I’m not sure that’s along the right lines.

It’s a game by Dontnod Entertainment and it’s published by Squeenix, basically you play as a teenage girl who has the power to reverse time in very small quantities, who has to save her town from imminent destruction that we’re not really sure if she caused or not(?)
It’s not great writing in a lot of places, v “how do you do fellow kids” dialogue, but the overall story is fantastic. I’ve been watching a let’s play and there have been a few moments (especially in parts three and four) that have genuinely shocked me both for their complexity and for how much I either wanted or didn’t want a character to make a specific choice.
If you saw Twin Peaks, Life Is Strange has the same mixture of goofiness and dead-seriousness. I recommend
